# Free wedding seating chart template

Two free downloads, no email asked:

- **Guest list template**: [Excel (.xlsx)](/templates/en/wedding-guest-list-template.xlsx) or [CSV for Google Sheets](/templates/en/wedding-guest-list-template.csv). One row per guest, with the columns a seating chart needs.
- **Printable worksheet**: [PDF, twelve round tables of ten](/templates/en/wedding-seating-chart-worksheet.pdf), for planning on paper or at the venue walk-through.

## The columns, and why each one matters

- **Name**: one person per row. Kids too, if they need a chair.
- **Household**: the same text for everyone who arrives together ("The Hales", "Chloe and Josh"). This is the column that keeps couples and families at one table. A chart without it is where most seating mistakes come from.
- **Group**: who they are to you: Bride's family, Groom's family, College friends, Work. Tables are filled group by group, so people sit with people they know.
- **Child**: "Yes" for kids. It lets you count kids' meals and decide whether there is a kids table.
- **Meal**: vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher, halal. The caterer will want the count by table.
- **RSVP**: "Yes" or "No". Guests who declined stay on your list but off the chart.

## Using it in Google Sheets

Open Google Sheets, then File, Import, Upload, and pick the CSV. Or open the .xlsx straight from Google Drive. Both keep the columns as they are.

## From the template to the chart

A filled guest list is the slow half of the job. Placing everyone at tables, keeping families together and the people who must not sit together apart, is the other half, and the one that takes a weekend by hand.

The template's columns are the ones [Wedtide](/) reads: select every cell including the header row, copy, and paste it into Wedtide. It counts how many tables you need, seats everyone with each household at one table, and lets you say who must sit apart. Then you drag to adjust, walk the room in 3D, print the list by table for the venue and caterer, and give guests a QR sign to find their seat. Free, no account, and your list stays on your device.

If you prefer paper, print the worksheet, write a table number in each circle and a name on each line. Two tips: write in pencil, and fill the tables for parents and the wedding party first.
