Wedtide is a seating plan tool that runs in your browser. We built it so that we do not need your guest list: on the free plan we do not have it. If you buy Wedtide Plus and continue with Google, we keep an encrypted copy of your plan so it opens on your other devices and your partner's (see "Wedtide Plus: your plan in the cloud" below). This page says what that means in practice.

Who we are

Wedtide is run by Dan Zajdband, self-employed (autónomo), Spain. Questions or requests about your data: hola@wedtide.com.

Your plan stays in your browser

The names, dates, venue, tables and seating you enter are saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. On the free plan they are not uploaded to Wedtide or to any server of ours, and there are no accounts. If you clear your browser data, the plan is gone, so use Save to download a copy. With Wedtide Plus you can also keep it in the cloud, as the next section explains.

Wedtide Plus: your plan in the cloud

With Plus and after you continue with Google, your plan is also saved on our server so it opens on any device where you continue with the same Google account, and so you can share it with your partner. We store the plan (names, dates, venue, tables, seating and anything else you entered), an identifier of your Google account, your email address, the email addresses you share the plan with, and when it was last saved. Your browser keeps its own copy as before, and keeps working without a connection.

The plan is stored in Cloudflare D1, in Cloudflare's European Union jurisdiction, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. This is encryption at rest, not end-to-end encryption: it protects the stored data, but our server holds the key and decrypts the plan to send it to you or to the people you shared it with.

Sharing: you add your partner's email address; when they continue with Google using that address, they can open and edit the same plan. You can remove them at any time. A person you share with can also see the plan's contents, so share only with people you trust with your guest list.

Deletion: Delete from the cloud, in Wedtide Plus inside your plan, deletes the cloud copy and its sharing at once (your device keeps its own copy). Otherwise we delete it automatically 12 months after the wedding date you entered, or 12 months after the last save if there is no date. Your sign-in session lasts 30 days and lives only in your browser.

The seat finder link and the QR sign

When you press Share or make the entrance sign, Wedtide builds a link that contains the guest names, their tables and the room setting. That information sits in the part of the address after the #, which browsers do not send to web servers, so it does not reach us. It is not encrypted either: anyone who has the link can read every name in it. You decide who gets the link, and a printed QR sign is readable by anyone who can see it. A link cannot be taken back once it has been shared; to stop using one, share a new plan and stop circulating the old link.

When a guest opens the link, their browser decodes it locally. Nothing they type is sent anywhere.

Venue search

If you search for your venue while setting up, the text you type is sent from your browser to Photon (a search service by Komoot, built on OpenStreetMap data). They see your IP address and that text, under their own policies. If you do not search, nothing is sent. Please do not type guest names there.

Your venue's floor plan

If you add your venue's floor plan (a photo or a PDF) to draw your room, it is read in your browser and saved on your device with the rest of your plan. It is never uploaded, and it is not part of the links you share.

AI assistants (Claude, ChatGPT and others)

If you use Wedtide from an AI assistant, the assistant sends our server the guest list, rules and couple's names you gave it, so Wedtide can seat everyone. The server computes the plan in memory, puts it inside the links it answers with (after the #, as above) and forgets it: nothing is stored, logged by us or shared with anyone. The assistant itself, and what it keeps of your conversation, is governed by its own provider's policy. Details: Wedtide in AI assistants.

Anonymous usage statistics

When analytics are switched on, Wedtide sends anonymous events to PostHog, hosted in the EU, to learn whether people get through the setup and where they get stuck. Events carry only counts and ranges (for example "51 to 100 guests"), durations, yes/no values and fixed options such as the chosen room setting, plus whether you use a phone, tablet or computer, which Wedtide page you are on (never the part of the address that holds a plan) and the name of the website that sent you, if any (for example google.com). They never carry guest names, couple names, dates, venue names or the contents of your plan. Wedtide sets no cookies for this. A random identifier is kept in your browser's session storage for as long as the tab is open, and PostHog is told not to build a profile of you. If your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control", Wedtide sends nothing.

Feedback

After you finish the setup we may ask how easy it was, once per device, and you can also send us feedback at any time with the "Send feedback" link. Your 1 to 5 score, if you pick one, is sent as one of the anonymous events above. If you write a comment, that text is sent too, so please do not include names or other personal details.

Payments

Wedtide Plus is paid through Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record (Stripe Managed Payments) and processes your payment details and billing data under its own privacy policy. Wedtide never sees your card number.

After paying, Stripe sends you back to Wedtide with a checkout reference. Your browser sends that reference to our server, which asks Stripe whether it was paid and answers yes or no; your browser then remembers that this device has Plus. Planning, sharing and printing never ask you to sign in.

To buy Plus, or to turn it on in another browser, you continue with Google. Google's sign-in button is loaded from Google only when you open Wedtide Plus or press "Get Plus", never just by visiting Wedtide. When you continue, Google knows that you signed in to Wedtide, under Google's own privacy policy, and gives your browser a signed note with your name, email address and profile picture. Your browser sends that note to our server, which checks Google's signature and uses only the email address: to ask Stripe whether it has a Wedtide Plus purchase for it and, if not, to fill it in on Stripe's checkout so you can find your purchase again later. We do not store the note or your name. Your email address and the account identifier are stored only if your plan is saved in the cloud (previous section); otherwise your browser keeps only the record that this device has Plus. Where sign-in with Google is not offered, you type the email you paid with instead, used the same way and also not stored.

The seat finder links you share after buying carry a mark that tells the guest's browser to hide the "Made with Wedtide" line; it contains nothing about you.

Hosting

The site is served as static files by a hosting provider, which, like any web host, may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address and requested page) for security and reliability. Fonts are served from the same site, not from a third party.

Your rights

On the free plan we hold no plan data, so there is nothing of yours to export or delete on our side; your browser holds it, and you can delete it any time with Start over or by clearing site data. With Plus cloud save, Save exports your plan and Delete from the cloud erases our copy; you can also ask us by email to access, correct or delete it. For anything else, including questions about feedback comments, write to hola@wedtide.com. You may also complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the AEPD.
